Angel Oak est une œuvre née dans le temps.

Commencée en janvier 2026, elle est restée plusieurs mois dans l’atelier, inachevée, avant de reprendre vie et de se transformer profondément.

Au centre de la composition, un arbre monumental déploie ses branches dans une profusion de couleurs et de lumière. Bleus profonds, verts lumineux, roses, rouges, orangés et touches cuivrées se superposent tandis que de larges faisceaux traversent le feuillage.

L’arbre reste immédiatement reconnaissable, mais le paysage semble progressivement quitter le réel. Les formes se dissolvent, les couleurs débordent et la lumière ouvre des passages vers un espace plus intérieur.

Au fil des mois, Angel Oak a lui-même changé. Son feuillage initialement dominé par les verts s’est progressivement chargé de rouges, de roses, d’orangés et de lumière. Couche après couche, l’œuvre s’est éloignée de son point de départ pour trouver sa forme définitive.

Cette transformation picturale a accompagné une période de transformation personnelle de l’artiste.

Angel Oak is an artwork shaped by time.

Begun in January 2026, it remained unfinished in the studio for several months before coming back to life and undergoing a profound transformation.

At the centre of the composition, a monumental tree spreads its branches through an abundance of colour and light. Deep blues, luminous greens, pinks, reds, oranges and copper tones overlap as broad beams of light travel through the foliage.

The tree remains immediately recognisable, yet the landscape gradually seems to move beyond reality. Forms begin to dissolve, colours overflow and light opens passages towards a more inward space.

Over the months, Angel Oak itself changed. Its foliage, initially dominated by greens, gradually became filled with reds, pinks, oranges and light. Layer after layer, the artwork moved away from its starting point until it found its final form.

This pictorial transformation accompanied a period of personal transformation for the artist.

An artwork suspended between roots and movement, matter and light, reality and imagination.
